For New Yorkers and music fans Gov Ball is an oasis away from the city for a weekend. For 3-days, the best and brightest of upcoming artists and old favorites gather on Randall’s island to jam out for music lovers from around the country. However, for those unable to attend the festival all they have is social media to get them through it. We already have a Governors Ball collection, but for those of you trying to keep track of or get to know some of the artists performing we’ve got you covered. From mainstream gems like Florence + the Machine (@ouhoh) to indie darlings like Echosmith (@echosmith), here are the 10 best Instagram and YouTube feeds of artists performing at Gov Ball 2015.
Some of our favorites were:
It’s pretty much everything you’d want out of an artist’s Instagram. From gratuitous selfies, to personal pictures, to concert pictures, it feels more like a real person’s Instagram rather than one made by a social media manager.
Speaking of personal Instagrams, Florence Welch pretty much uses her account as a day to day narrative of her life. From the art she looks at to the books she reads, her Instagram is the best way to feel connected to the singer-songwriter.
Rudimental is a band formed by childhood friends, and that is what their Instagram shows — four childhood friends out on an adventure together.
If you’re looking for another Instagram with friends on an adventure, check out “cool kids” Echosmith’s Instagram. While it feels a bit more like a promotional one, there is no shortage of touring photos and funny videos to hold you over.
Probably the silliest Instagram in the collection, Clean Bandit features the general shenanigans of the members of the band from shopping at Walmart to sporting cat scarves (just check out the collection for an explanation).
