Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, has been working for nearly 5 years now, however he didn’t strike success until his mega-hit “Can’t Feel My Face” hit the mainstream crowd. Now he has garnered huge success that even resulted in him nabbing an Album of the Year nomination and Record of the Year.

She needs no introduction, Taylor Swift is the reigning queen of pop. She’s one of the most successful artists of her time, so it’s no surprise that she nabbed 7 nominations, including 3 in the general field. This Australian singer songwriter shocked many by landing a Best New Artist nomination among names like Meghan Trainor and Sam Hunt. Although she isn’t as well known in the US, she is definitely making a name for herself and has a long future in the industry. Ed Sheeran (Song of the Year & Record of the Year)

Based on his Instagram feed, Ed Sheeran just seems like a really great guy. Which is great considering all the success he has had in his career, including two grammy nominations this year for Song and Record of the Year for his mega hit “Thinking Out Loud”.

Alabama Shakes (Album of the Year)

Although Alabama Shakes has had a lot of success in their career, they still feel like that hometown band that you’re rooting for, except instead of a town, it’s an entire fandom of people. Their success has transcended commercial and critical and now earned them 5 nominations this year including Album of the Year. Their feed consists of tons of concert photos and of course the occasional celeb encounter.

Charlie Puth (Song of the Year)

The news of Paul Walkers death shocked the world and saddened the hearts of many. So, when the movie Furious 7 decided to have his character drive off into the sunset, a song to match the incredible event had to be made. Luckily, Charlie Puth and Wiz Kalifah did that, which led them to a song of the year nomination. Puth’s feed is always silly and entertaining and shows his down to earth personality.
